ABOUT BIOFUEL AND THE NEW YORK STATE CLEAN HEATING FUEL CREDIT
Our top-quality heating oil and eco-friendly biofuel options deliver reliable warmth and exceptional performance, ensuring your home stays comfortable while caring for the environment.
We start with No. 2 Fuel Oil. This is the most common grade for residential hearing, designed for optimal performance in most climates.
Biofuel is blended in to meet New York State mandates, or in higher quantities by customer preference. While state mandates call for a minimum of 10% biofuel as of July 1, 2025, United Metro Energy can blend up to B20 (20% biofuel) to provide a more eco-friendly heating solution.
New York State also offers a tax credit of up to $.01/gallon for each percentage of biofuel you use, or up to $.20/gallon in total!
The math is simple:
250 gallons of B20 purchased x $.20/gallon = $50.00 in tax credit
